About me

Kia ora

I’m Kesian Paymani, a registered psychologist with a background in community psychology. Over the past several years I’ve worked in kaupapa Māori rangatahi services, supporting young people, whānau, and communities through both one-on-one and group-based approaches to healing.

I’m a father of three and a husband. I’m of both Pākehā and Iranian heritage, and I’m part of the Bahá’í Faith, which gives me purpose and direction in life. These experiences mean I often move between different worlds and responsibilities, which has shaped the way I connect with others. Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and spending time with whānau and friends.

I believe people already hold the keys to their own growth and healing. My role is to walk alongside you, listen deeply, encourage reflection, and support you in taking steps toward the life you want. I also see our struggles in context—shaped not only by personal experiences but also by the environments, communities, and systems around us.

If you’re looking for support that honours your story, I’d be privileged to walk alongside you and see if I’m the right fit.
